What a delivery location is
A delivery location is one area you deliver to, with its own rules. Most stores have several: a dense inner-city zone with same-day slots, and wider suburban zones on set days.
Each location has five tabs.
| Tab | What you set there |
|---|---|
| Location settings | Name, delivery days, cutoff time, prep time, daily order limit |
| Timeslots | The windows customers can choose on each day |
| Blackout dates | Days you will not deliver, such as public holidays |
| Postcode | Which postcodes this area covers, and which to exclude |
| Pricing | What delivery costs in this area |
Cutoffs and daily limits
A cutoff is the time after which a day stops being offered. Set 2pm on same-day delivery and the cart removes today from the picker the moment 2pm passes, so nobody books a run you have already dispatched.
A daily order limit caps how many orders one area can take in a day. Once it fills, that day disappears from the picker for that area and stays available everywhere else.
Cutoffs are set per area, so a van that leaves at noon and one that leaves at 4pm do not have to share a deadline.
Postcodes
Add the postcodes you serve to the include list. You can also add codes by prefix, so 902 covers everything beneath it and a shopper typing a longer code like 60614-1234 is still served.
The exclude list wins over the include list, which is how you carve a hole out of an area you otherwise cover.
Pricing
Three ways to price an area:
| Mode | What it does |
|---|---|
| Free | No delivery charge in this area |
| Flat | One price, optionally free above a spend threshold |
| Bands | A price that steps down as the cart grows, with as many steps as you need |
Bands are on the Growth plan. Existing pricing is left exactly as it is until you switch a location over.
